If you are planning to return a product to us, make sure to include your complete return shipping address, daytime contact telephone number, copy of original invoice or sales receipt and written reason for return with your package. Re-calibration service carries a fee of $35, which can be included by check (only AlcoMate and AlcoScan brand breathalyzers are covered). Please check below to see if your problem is already covered without the need for return.

If you purchased your breathalyzer from an unapproved re-seller, we may refuse service (including exchanges, refunds and calibration). If you purchase from an unapproved source, remember that none of those sellers can provide any post-purchase services for you. Buy at your own risk.

Please check the following list of common problems for each product to see if your issue can be resolved:

• No Power: Replace battery, check battery wires.
• Doesn't take breath reading / "Flo" displayed: Check that you are blowing with sufficient strength and for at least 4 seconds. The Prestige features a pressure sensor that may show a "Flo" message onscreen if the airflow is too weak. If you never see a reading, please make certain that it is not an airflow problem by blowing as hard and long as possible to see if you can get a reading at least once.
• "Sen"/"Er4" displayed: Please send your device in for repair or replacement.
• Inaccurate readings: Please make sure you wait at least 20 minutes after eating any food, drinking any liquids, or smoking. A common cause of false readings is alcohol-based mouthwash. Air in the mouth is filled with substances that affect the reading negatively. True readings use as much lung air as possible. Also, body chemistry and alcohol metabolism can vary greatly from person to person. You may see different readings between you and another person even when drinking alcohol in the same amount in the same time period. *Note: In rare cases, organ-based diseases such as diabetes may cause your breathalyzer to display a false positive.
  
  If you have owned your breathalyzer for at least four (4) months OR performed approximately 250~300 breath tests, your inaccurate readings are probably due to the need for a new pre-calibrated sensor. Click here to purchase additional Pre-Calibrated Sensor Modules.

AlcoScan AL5000
